Vivitar Tripod

New Camera Tripod

Hello everyone!
So After my last post about my new camera I've been trying to find new things I can buy for my camera and I found this tripod.
Its a great buy, It was on offer at Argos when I bought it, the price came to £19.99
It has 2 extensions on the legs and an extra one through the middle so it has a great variety of adjustable height. Connecting the camera is reasonably easy can be a bit fiddly but all in all a great buy.

Thanks for reading :)

you can buy the Tripod here.

Samsung Galaxy EK-GC100 Camera

Samsung EK-GC100

Hello everyone!!
So a few weeks ago I saw a new deal come out with Carphone Warehouse, Its £21 a month and you get a Samsung Ace, Samsung Tab 7.0 and the new Samsung Galaxy Camera EK-GC100.

The phone is pretty useless for me as I have an iPhone 5 but its not a bad little phone in general does everything you could want for a phone. The tablet I gave to my Girlfriend Leanne as she needed and wanted some form of tablet for a while now so she is very happy now, the tablet I have been informed is very good she can access her facebook and more importantly her blog! so if anyone out there is looking at this specific product it is very highly regarded.

So to the main reason I took out this contract out, The Camera!! I have been looking for a new camera over the past few weeks and when I saw this deal I read so many reviews and specs about the product and all of them seemed to be coming back perfect. The camera itself has a layout just like a Samsung tablet and a Samsung phone you can download apps like facebook and instagram and also upload your photos straight to these apps too which is very handy and also perfect if you enjoy sharing your photos.

You can Add music to the camera it has a 3.5mm headphone jack so you can listen to your music on the go. You can also insert a Micro-sim into the camera and share your photos through 3G when you do not have access to wifi. All in all it is an amazing camera which is worth every penny.

So I went ahead and took the deal and started using the new camera! And all the reviews are right this camera is an awesome piece of kit with some really stunning picture quality!, these pictures below are some of the first pictures I took with the EK-GC100

The Photos were taken on Automatic Mode, which is the easiest and fastest way to take a few quick photos but the quality is not lost at all. The resolution of the images are second to none. Getting the camera coincided perfectly with putting our terrapins in the pond due to the hot weather so I had the perfect opportunity to get used to the camera. Also the bearded dragons were in a very good mood are seemed to enjoy me taking a few snaps of them.

After I got over the initial excitement of my new toy I wanted to take advantage of the settings that the camera comes with, so there is Smart Mode which Samsung have kindly adjusted 19 different types of settings such as Macro into one mode, this is perfect because it has different scenarios for whatever situation you find your self in. Here is a Macro shot I took...
It also has a very handy voice controlled option so if you don't have very steady hands or a tripod, you turn on voice control and when you have your picture ready say 'SHOOT' and it will automatically take the picture.

There is also a Light Trace mode which I have yet to try out because I am waiting on my tripod to arrive, but it basically takes a photo of the light trails for example on a motorway at night. You would set the camera to the Light Trace mode and have the camera on the tripod at night and the camera will take a picture of the lights on the cars so they look like someone waving around a Sparkler mainly used on Halloween.

There is also an Expert Mode where you can control the shutter speed and light exposure of a picture, I haven't really had a proper go at using this mode but I did take one photo on Auto mode and one with Expert Mode just having a little play with the setting and here is the result...

Auto Mode

Expert Mode

Now I know there might not seem much difference but the Expert Mode photo has less light exposure so it is the tiniest bit darker but like I said I haven't really had much of a chance to take full advantage of the settings yet.

I will be writing more posts about the camera very shortly and I hope you have enjoyed reading this post :)

Leeds Festival

 LEEDS FESTIVAL

Now anyone that has been to a festival knows how much fun is involved in the experience and Leeds 2012 was an amazing experience. It was my 2nd time at Leeds festival and although I must admit it didn't top the first time I went it was amazing. I went with 5 of my mates and we camped out for the full weekend!

On the first day there was no music so we stayed around the campsite and drank a lot of alcohol and I mean a lot. we also met some of the other people around our campsite.
It was a great start to the weekend getting used to all the drinking and sitting around the campsite again.

Now onto the main event the music!! there were some top notch bands on show over the weekend,
  • The Vaccines
  • Foo Fighters
  • Kasabian
  • Young Guns
  • The Black Keys
  • Florence
  • The Maccabees
And lots lots more! on the first day of music I was only really interested in the foo fights and the black keys. So I stayed around the campsite until then. The walk down to the main arena takes about 20 minutes and you meet so very lively characters.
The black keys were amazing to watch well worth the money to go and watch them if you like them! . the foo fighters for me were good but not as good as I was hoping!

The 2nd day there I wasn't really interested in any of the bands playing, I went up to watch The Courteeners who were playing at the NME tent, I have seen these before and they are brilliant to watch really worth the walk up to the arena,

The final day was the the one I was looking forward to the most KASABIAN!! and the vaccines were playing which are for me 2 of the best bands you could ever wish to hear.
Here are some pictures from the weekend I hope you have enjoyed reading my post.

My Tattoo

My Tattoo

So I thought I would write my first post about my tattoo, my nanna unfortunately passed away in 2011 and I inherited a set of amazing rosary beads which were my granddads, he also unfortunately passed away but that was around the time I was born which is where I got the name 'Thomas'. So anyway i inherited the rosary beads and my tattoo idea came to life.

I had heard of a woman call 'Miss Polly' who worked at Blue Blood at the time. she had tattooed a few of my friends and they were all more than pleased with the final result so i decided to contact her and send off the ideas i had come up with. So i sent her off and email with a picture of the rosary beads and asked her to design something for me with a few ideas of her own. So I went for my first session and this is what the outcome was.....

As you can see the first session went well and I was very happy with her designs, she added A dove to the design as its a holy bird. you can see the details in the rosary beads she is a very very good tattoo artist.
On to my next session I sent Polly some welsh and Celtic writing to represent my Nanna and Granddad. The welsh writing said 'Land of my fathers' which was played at my Nanna's funeral and as some people will also know its the welsh national anthem. The Celtic writing said 'in the name of the father, the son, and the holy spirit' . my granddad was a very religious person so i thought this suited the tattoo.
So off i went for another session and here is what happened....

The writing went really well and the beads got continued up my arm, and some smaller doves got added to my arm as well. My animals thought they should be in the photos to. So as you can see the tattoo is going very well and the details are clearly amazing.
So we had to think of a background and one of the obvious choices that came up were clouds which again i thought would be perfect...

3rd session in and the background is complete, also more beads were completed and details added to some of the doves etc. So up to now the sleeve is going perfect but there was a problem i had a rather large space under my arm which needed to be filled. I had many ideas but never settled on anything until i found another crucifix i had inherited from my granddad. Now I was worried that i would have to many on my arm. but i sent her the idea and this is what she came up with...

This is my latest session up to now which was completed on the Saturday just gone. Polly decided to put roses around the crucifix so it wasn't so noticeable but still visible, I  am more than happy with what has been tattooed onto my arm the details are amazing and it looks stunning. I will have one more full session to finish off some of the beads and fill in the rest of the background

I hope you enjoyed reading my post.
