Samsung EK-GC100
Hello everyone!!
So a few weeks ago I saw a new deal come out with Carphone Warehouse, Its £21 a month and you get a Samsung Ace, Samsung Tab 7.0 and the new Samsung Galaxy Camera EK-GC100.
The phone is pretty useless for me as I have an iPhone 5 but its not a bad little phone in general does everything you could want for a phone. The tablet I gave to my Girlfriend Leanne as she needed and wanted some form of tablet for a while now so she is very happy now, the tablet I have been informed is very good she can access her facebook and more importantly her blog! so if anyone out there is looking at this specific product it is very highly regarded.
So to the main reason I took out this contract out, The Camera!! I have been looking for a new camera over the past few weeks and when I saw this deal I read so many reviews and specs about the product and all of them seemed to be coming back perfect. The camera itself has a layout just like a Samsung tablet and a Samsung phone you can download apps like facebook and instagram and also upload your photos straight to these apps too which is very handy and also perfect if you enjoy sharing your photos.
You can Add music to the camera it has a 3.5mm headphone jack so you can listen to your music on the go. You can also insert a Micro-sim into the camera and share your photos through 3G when you do not have access to wifi. All in all it is an amazing camera which is worth every penny.
So I went ahead and took the deal and started using the new camera! And all the reviews are right this camera is an awesome piece of kit with some really stunning picture quality!, these pictures below are some of the first pictures I took with the EK-GC100
The Photos were taken on Automatic Mode, which is the easiest and fastest way to take a few quick photos but the quality is not lost at all. The resolution of the images are second to none. Getting the camera coincided perfectly with putting our terrapins in the pond due to the hot weather so I had the perfect opportunity to get used to the camera. Also the bearded dragons were in a very good mood are seemed to enjoy me taking a few snaps of them.
After I got over the initial excitement of my new toy I wanted to take advantage of the settings that the camera comes with, so there is Smart Mode which Samsung have kindly adjusted 19 different types of settings such as Macro into one mode, this is perfect because it has different scenarios for whatever situation you find your self in. Here is a Macro shot I took...
It also has a very handy voice controlled option so if you don't have very steady hands or a tripod, you turn on voice control and when you have your picture ready say 'SHOOT' and it will automatically take the picture.
There is also a Light Trace mode which I have yet to try out because I am waiting on my tripod to arrive, but it basically takes a photo of the light trails for example on a motorway at night. You would set the camera to the Light Trace mode and have the camera on the tripod at night and the camera will take a picture of the lights on the cars so they look like someone waving around a Sparkler mainly used on Halloween.
There is also an Expert Mode where you can control the shutter speed and light exposure of a picture, I haven't really had a proper go at using this mode but I did take one photo on Auto mode and one with Expert Mode just having a little play with the setting and here is the result...

Now I know there might not seem much difference but the Expert Mode photo has less light exposure so it is the tiniest bit darker but like I said I haven't really had much of a chance to take full advantage of the settings yet.
I will be writing more posts about the camera very shortly and I hope you have enjoyed reading this post :)
